I love design, and designers. Usually they are a stubborn folk that mean well and occasionally they are absolutely brilliant.
Just imagine what would happen if every boardroom has a designer in it? Wouldn’t the world be just a little bit more delightful that way? Wouldn’t products and services be much nicer to consume and wouldn’t things be just a bit more fun?
These days probably belong in a distant future but on a more modest scale I firmly believe that every organisation benefits from design. Simply because designing will teach you how to listen to you customers and make better informed decisions. And you will most likely enjoy an influx of creativity as well.
20 years ago, I started as an art director for a Dutch ‘digital’ agency. Quickly realising the potential of UX design, I rushed into the rabbit hole and discovered I loved designing large scale digital platforms.
More so, I loved the challenge of delivering an awesome experience at scale. So when the appetite became bigger than the menu an agency could serve, I decided to start my own design agency Resoluut, thinking: how hard can it be…
Really hard! But it turned out I had a talent for entrepreneurship and a decade later my design agency had evolved to a collective of creative agencies called Makerstreet.
The experience of employing over 350 creatives in The Netherlands, taught me a thing or two about how to make creative organisations profitable and fun. That knowledge I now practice and share every day, when I help others build successful (in house) creative teams.
Please do reach out to me if I can help speed up your design team's growth. Or if you think you need a designer in your c-suite :)
